Our dream state is often a place where God meets with us even if we are oblivious to His presence. As we drift deeper and deeper into REM (rapid eye movement) sleep our spirits awaken and soar no longer bridled by the aggressive restriction of our physical bodies.
The secular world has desensitized us to the spiritual importance of dreaming through the commercial and carnal appeal it provokes, nonetheless it is expedient that we decipher its value.Scientists specializing in the field of Oneirology (dreams) have confirmed in their experiments with the EEG that during the unconscious state human beings experience extreme levels of brain activity especially during REM.
All of the research does confirm the phenomena involved in dreaming specifically in the area of lucid dreaming. We are seeing many spiritualist and new agers navigating in swarms to experience the euphoria involved in this dream state.
I am not here to dispel the researchers' findings or the myths involved in dreaming but rather to enlighten you, to simply divert your attention to the spiritual significance this activity endows. As an avid dreamer myself,I have studied extensively on the topic and I'm still in the process of learning how our spirits commune with the netherworld of the spiritual realm as we rest.
Genesis 37:5-7 introduces us to Joseph's first dream about the sheaves of grain of which when he shared it,it only intensified the hatred his brothers had for him.Little did Joseph know at the time, that it was a premonition of future events which would confirm exactly what God had shown him in his dream years before.God gave Joseph another dream to reiterate what He had shown him previously, but there was no indication that he made heads or tails of what God was telling him.In Genesis 37:9 he went to his brothers again to share his dream, and of course he got the same response.I can't verify this but I do think that Joseph was truly captivated by the inexplicable visual account he experienced. In other words,I really don't think it was the very first time he ever had dream in his entire life.Something made these dreams stand out from the others and I have no doubt in my mind that he had an encounter with God and didn't even know it.I say all of that to say that not all of our dreams will be mesmerizing spiritual encounters of note but you could very well be brushing shoulders with an angel or two in some of your dreams.
The symbolism involved in dream interpretation is a very exhausting but most rewarding study experience if you find the time.click here to get an introduction in dream interpretation, prayer and similar topics also here, you will also find a wealth of knowledge. Until next time my friends...sweet dreams.
